This is worked in the round, except for the ears.

This is using US terms.

 

Abbreviations:

MR – magic ring

2sc – increase stitch

Sc2tog – decrease stitch

Sc3tog – decrease stitch

St – stitch

Rep – repeat

Flo – front loop only (loop farthest crom you/on outside of work)

 

Materials needed:

Aran weight yarns in color of your choice

Size D hook, 3.5mm

Polyfiber fill or stuffing of your choice

Size 10mm safety eyes

 

All right, now for the pattern!

 

Cup:

MR 6

2sc in ea – 12

Sc, 2sc in next, rep around – 18

Sc in 2, 2sc in next, rep around – 24

Sc in 3, 2sc in next, rep around – 30

Sc in 4, 2sc in next, rep around – 36

Sc in 5, 2sc in next, rep around – 42

Sc around in flo – 42

Sc around – 42 x 10

Sl st to first st from previous rd, FO.

 

Handle:

Ch 4, sl st to first

Sc around – 4 x 14

Place handle about two rows from the top and one row from the bottom.

 

 

Hamster:

In brown,

MR 6

2sc in ea – 12

Sc, 2sc in next, rep around – 18

Sc in 2, 2sc in next, rep around – 24

Sc in ea – 24 x 2

Sc in 3, 2sc in next, rep around – 30

Sc in ea – 30 x 4

Sc in 4, 2sc in next, rep around – 36

Sc in ea - 36

Sc in 5, 2sc in next, rep around – 42

Sc in ea – 42 x 5

Place eyes around round 4 or 5, 6 sts apart.

Sc in 5, sc2tog, rep around – 36

Sc in 4, sc2tog, rep around - 30

Sc in 3, sc2tog, rep around – 24

Sc in 2, sc2tog, rep around – 18

Sc, sc2tog, rep around – 12

Sc2tog around – 6

Sc3tog to close, FO.

 

Belly patch:

In cream,

Ch 9 + 1 to turn (continue chaining one to turn throughout)

Sc in 9 – 9 x 2

2sc, sc in 7, 2sc in last – 11

Sc in ea – 11

2sc, sc in 9, 2sc in last – 13

Sc in ea – 13

Sc2tog, sc in 3, sc 2tog, sc in 4, sc2tog – 9

Sc3tog, sc in 3, sc3tog – 5

FO.

Attach belly patch centered under eyes, about 4 rows down.

 

Feet, tail (make 3):

In pink,

Ch 3, join with sl st

Sc in ea – 3 x 3

Sl st to first, FO.

Attach feet at angles over belly patch, about four sts apart. See photos.

Attach tail low in center of back.

 

Nose circle:

MR 5

2sc in ea – 10

Sl st to first.

 

Nose:

With pink, embroider nose patch, and lips onto nose circle. See pictures.

 

Attach nose to hamster, centered low between eyes and over belly patch.

 

Ears:

MR 3

2sc in ea – 6

Sl st, turn, sc in 2

TO. Attach one row above eyes, about 3sts back. You will want one ear backwards/wrong side showing so that it perks up. Just turn it inside out to match other ear/make it cup.
